5 Easy Strategies To Skyrocket Your Followers On Instagram

Hi there, Boss Babes!

So, every Tuesday I'll be posting resource information about a collection of useful topics to help you strategize and grow your empires! This week I'm sharing 5 easy strategies to skyrocket your Instagram following. Because we all know how important and useful Instagram is to grow our businesses.

Let’s say that you just opened an Instagram account for your new business, or you just want to grow your following. Beyond hashtags, followback schemes, and other marketing tricks— you want to know what really grows your Instagram following.

Well, here's 5 easy and fun tips to give you a big boost!

It can take a while to become good at your photography skills, to know what works and what doesn’t and to get an eye for composition. So take a lot of photos, archive them and be very selective of your favorites to post. Talent works. Create a lot of content to find the gems. Only post 2-3% of your photos. Become so good, they can't ignore you.

This is one of the major things people tend to overlook when starting up a business. Think of your ideal followers and customers. The people you love to serve and help. What do they have in common? List every common trait of their demographic like their age, income, gender, marital status, industry. Now what are their world views, values, beliefs, lifestyle, hobbies, and interests? Use these commonalities and create a single representation of your ideal target audience. Describe this person so well that you can easily step in their shoes. The goal is to know them so well you can think like them, speak like them, and experience their emotions. Remember, if you're trying to talk to everybody, you're talking to nobody.

Once you completely understand who your target audience is that you want to connect with, then it's much easier for you to understand exactly what they like. Maybe they're excited to plan their upcoming wedding, or is a stay at home mom that would love a break. You can attract your ideal audience by posting things that spark their interest. Knowing your audience and their triggers will make it easier to attract them as followers and future customers.

Instagram is a great platform for you to showcase your creativity. Yes, I know... quotes are fun, and a great way to relate with your followers, but every other post should not be a quote. Posting the same thing all the time gets boring and you'll start to become predictable and lose your following. Just like dating, you want to create some intrigue by giving them something to look forward to by using the element of surprise. Keep your eyes open for things that fascinate you, and you know your audience would love. Being observant is such an important skill to cultivate. Just look around you when you walk or drive. Always keep your eyes open. Be infinitely curious. Eventually there will be something that just pops out at you, makes you stop in your tracks. It will be something different that adds value for everyone, including you.

As they say, "if you want to be successful, you must be consistent." Once you start a pattern, your audience begins to trust you. They will begin to expect you to post around the same time everyday, and they look forward to it. By not being consistent, this is the biggest way to lose followers. People are busy, and they get bored really quickly nowadays. If you don't remain consistent, it may sound harsh, but it's the truth - people will forget about you and move on. So, why not just have fun with it!? When you have fun with your posts, your followers will too. Enjoy it, and be social. The more social you are, the more people will view you as a human instead of some random person behind the screen. Humans were born with the deep desire to connect, so leave comments on your ideal follower's accounts and engage in some fun conversation when your followers leave a comment on your post.
