4 Ways To Dream BIG & Achieve The Unrealistic
Thanks for being here today! This week I'm sharing four ways to dream bigger and create better goals because Boss Babes are ladies who dream big and have the hustle to back up their vision.
On my site, I ask my clients to first dream big before contacting me to work together. I want to hear about your dream business, and all of the details of your vision in order for me to help you bring it to life. I'm sure this kind of scares some people, because dreaming big can be a daunting and scary task. But I think, if it does scare you, then GOOD! My intention is to plant a seed.
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough.
Have you ever lost motivation because you're afraid your dreams are unrealistic, or too big? Or maybe you don't have any big dreams because you were always taught to play it safe. Maybe people around you are telling you to be more realistic, or to be smart and do what's best for the world.
Well, the world was created by dreamers.
In our lives, most of us were taught that the word 'daydreamer' was somehow an insult. Someone with their 'head in the clouds' is condemned as impractical. To allow your mind to wander off to create fantastic ideas is somehow something to be ashamed of.
But look at it this way, everything we are surrounded by, cars, clothes, sky scrapers - was first just a dream in someone's head. They dreamt it, drew it, then created it... out of nothing. Yet the practical minded still go throughout each and every day completely blind to the fact that we live in a world of dreams. Dreams that have become tangible.
Inner belief and conviction creates resilience.
Anyone that's a dreamer, entrepreneur or a creator will always have to face dissent, but the most deadly one to face? Yourself. I won't let you get in your own way. So let's take a real thoughtful and conscious approach to stepping things up and dreaming big.
No. 1 Envision, paint and frame your dream.
Your mind must arrive at your destination before your life does. We can't become what we don't envision. So get vivid, and super specific about your dream. Paint all the details. Then translate that picture into words. Write down that big dream you just envisioned.
There's so much power to writing things down. It then becomes real. There's actually been studies that show that you're 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down! So, trust me, just do it... whether it's on your computer, in your journal, or your notepad on your phone (my favorite)
No. 2 Guard off negativity
This is what I find to be the most powerful thing you can ever do. Be ultra selective and take control of the energy you allow in your life. Sometimes I have to put my blinders on and completely avoid certain people in order to fend off their negativity. They'll get the hint, and be thankful for when they do.
Our brains are continuously shaped by our thoughts and our experiences. Negativity is one of the most toxic forces. It's toxic for your brain, your health, and your motivation. So, you must do everything in your power to just not allow it.
It's simple, don't listen to the opinions of Debbie Downers that aren't actually out there consistently taking meaningful risks, being brave and actually making things happen.
Has this person achieved an unrealistic dream? Do you admire who they are and how they live? If not, then just stick to talking about the weather with them.
No. 3 Surround yourself with positivity and people who force you to level up.
Now that you're super protective of what you allow your mind to consume, you must now flood it with positivity on a consistent basis. Surround yourself with people you admire.
What if there's no one in your direct life that you really admire?
Then flood yourself with documentaries of your idols, or interesting people that have achieved great things. Learn about how they got from where they started to where they ended up. Learn about all of their failures that they experienced along the way. Because of course, the stumbles and falls are inevitable for all of us. And quite honestly, the juiciest part of your success story.
Feed your mind people who speak up for what they believe in.
Anyone who's achievements are worthy enough of a documentary, probably had big, unrealistic dreams.
Interesting thought: If you were to meet your idols (dead or alive) Would they be proud of you? Would they want to know you?
No. 4 Put it into action
Figure out who you are and do it on purpose. Action is the antidote to fear. You don't have to be perfect to be amazing. Just take action. Step by step is how all great things are achieved.
Do something everyday that brings you closer to the life that you want. No matter how small it is, every action counts. Every step forward is one step closer.
Big dreams are what make life so exciting and help you grow. Stop putting it off. You're only limiting yourself and your growth. Time is nonrefundable. Use it with intention.
Remember, passion & grace will take you places just hustling can't.
But until then, keep hustling!
