How To: Not Be The Most Regretful Person On Earth
Thanks for being here today! Every Tuesday I post resource information about a collection of useful topics to help you strategize and grow your empires! Last week I shared Why It's Okay That No One Gives A Sh*t About Your Business In The Beginning and this week I'm talking about How To Not Be The Most Regretful Person On Earth.
Whether we make a profession out of it or not, we all have creative instincts that need to be listened to. Whether you do creative work for a living or not, it doesn't matter. We all need an activity that pushes us out of our limited spaces and roles in society, whether you're a waitress, mother, father, boss, wife, etc.
Are you considering becoming a creative person? Too late, you already are one.
What I'm getting at is, there's some idea or creative exploration within you that has yet to be brought to life. There's something inside of each of us that's hidden, or wanting to be expressed that we haven't given ourselves permission to investigate yet.
"If I'm not actively creating something then I am probably actively destroying something. Myself, a relationship, or my own peace of mind. I firmly believe that we all need to find something in our lives that stops us from eating the couch. Not expressing creativity is what turns people crazy." - Elizabeth Gilbert
Creativity can be expressed in an infinite amount of ways, and your creativity doesn't have to have a price tag on it. Expressing creativity really just breaks down to the act of creating something, whatever that may be.
I find it interesting how creative energy works. The more creativity you use, the more you have and the more ideas you come up with.
Ideas are an energetic life-form driven by a simple impulse, to be manifested by you.
However, not all ideas will wait around forever. Some ideas are more patient than others. Some might wait years for your attention, but others won't.
Would you want to sit around in a dark box for a decade feeling blown off? Damn, that would suck to not really know if you'll ever be put to good use. Poor ideas...
If I were that idea, I'd sure as hell move on to find someone else that paid attention to me.
So, what is it for you? What creative work is hidden within you that deserves more of your time and attention? And what's one simple action you can take right now to bring it to life?
Be brave enough to say, "yes, I want to do that!"
Pay attention to your creative ideas. Let's not be the most regretful people on earth.
